So, here's the thing with the stories
One of the many things I loved best about our families were the all the stories. Mother told me stories while she washed my hair, baked pecan rolls, fixed supper and drove the car. I loved all of them.
For me, genealogy is about so much more than just the dates. Having talked to some of you and seen some of the information on Ancestors.com, I don't think that this is a rare quality for our families. I think while I can remember and tell the stories, I can keep the old ones with me a while longer, so when I write the blogs and add items to this website, expect stories.
The problem I see with this, is that the stories I have are the ones mother told me. Even then, we should consider that I really have grown to be an old bat with a memory that, well, just ain't what she used to be. So, am counting on you guys to add your stories to the mix and straighten me out on the stuff I mess up. Send the stories that the aunties and uncles told you about the old days...and don't forget to send your stories as well. What is your favorite story? What memory will you never forget?
Right now, I can't promise that I will put in all the stories, we have a lot after all. In addition, I can't put in anything that might hurt or embarrass someone else. Partly because that is the right thing to do, and partly because there is enough dirt about me that I would like to keep my own glass house safe.
I am also pretty fierce about privacy issues. So, we may want to just use first names and stay away from using information, we wouldn't want to see on the front page. I will have a link here to the genealogy I have online as soon as I can figure out how to do it. The entries on the charts, do not include any references to living people for the same reasons. If you have additions I would love to put them into the information I keep offline.
That all having been said, let's have at it.

Who has the recipe for the chicken and noodle dish at the reunion
Every Brown reunion I can remember had huge pans and cookers full a chicken and noodle dish. There was always a straw poll going on about which one was best. Of course, there was never a final decision. Nor, as I remember were there any leftovers. If you have the recipe, please send it to me to publish here. If you have the recipes for others that were your favorites, send those as well.
